Slow Screen Update, No Improvement Over 2011
Pros: good financial management tool, costco's price is the best i've found at this time, mobile support (if you really need it)
Cons: no significant improvements over 2011, very slow screen update
    Model Number: 2014
"I have been using Quicken for 13 years and I like it despite periodic buggy behavior. But this update is not worth it (even at Costco's price) unless you are losing support for online banking (as I was with 2011 version since Intuit only supports for 3 years). Except for mobile support, I have seen no significant improvement in account management or financial tools over what was available in 2011 version. When I switch from one account to another or add a transaction, the screen flickers while it takes 4-5 seconds to display the new screen. I've gone to Quicken support and they have no fix - the Quicken community forum is full of posts with the same problem and none have been solved."

    Quicken is junk
    Pros: none
Cons: won't download account data correctly, hangs need to close through task manager
    Model Number: Quicken Deluxe 2014
"Intuit left in all of the bugs from the 2013 version, made no improvements, and now require an 'online' account?!?! When I was FORCED to upgrade from a working 2010 version to the buggy 2013 version, it wouldn't connect and download from all of my accounts. In fact, it would hang the computer. Since there is no 'Cancel' button, I'd have to exit the program with the Windows Task Manager. Other accounts that worked with the 1-step update now required the manual web download. After seeing the same problem in the 2014 version, I returned it for a refund.
I also returned Turbo Tax (which had so many problems for tax yearn 2012 that the state of MN STOPPED accepting returns using TT!), Intuit will never get 1 more cent from me.
This was tested on multiple computers running both XP and WIndows 7. I've wasted enough time on Intuit, NO MORE.

    Questionable Value by Intuit
Pros: better than all the other alteratives, your data is stored on your computer
Cons: buggy, online syncing works yet has flaws, not worth upgrade unless from 2011 or older, lack of competition
    Model Number: 2014 R 7 (23.1.7.6) after updates
"I do not love this product enough to write a long review, so I'll keep it short.
The initial release of 2014 was very buggy and not worth the purpose. They've had updates and the bugs are mostly fixed. The online syncing is still inadequate. It'll download stuff, match it up, then give the wrong balance. Then after balancing, the next reconcile shows 0 start balance.
This is worse than the 2011 version.
    1. DO NOT BUY Quicken 2014 UNLESS you are upgrading from 2011 or older only because support is being dropped.
    2. As AVERAGE as Quicken is, it is still the best home finance software available.... sadly ;(
    3. I'd use mint or something else if I wanted my personal data up on the internet forever (ie I don't)

    Good program--but
Pros: integrates well with previous editions
    Cons: quirky
    Model Number: 2014 Deluxe
"I have been a quicken user for greater than 20 years. The program installed without a problem and the data from a previous edition was quickly and correctly converted. It is easy to use.
However various quirks crop us. For example, on reconciling an account, I was previously given the option of using a paper document or an online balance. Now, it goes directly to the cleared transactions. An error results. I am going to uninstall and reinstall but shouldn't have to do this.
